In my past, I scoffed at walking as a workout. It seemed to unchallenging, too tedious, too boring! However, as I get a little older, I value the time walking together with a companion, human or not. Also, with longer walks, with patience and and interest in longer walks, the exercise value seems obvious and I wonder why I dismissed it so long ago. The article here is written based on a doctor's (and an "Oprah" doctor, in fact) walking workout routine.
